  Michnia on his works:
“I'm only marginally interested in discussions on the ideals of classic, modern or contemporary art. My personal fascination lies in the force of colors and how they interact with each other. Art helps me to find my own position in the present and to get a grasp on it with the look of my eyes.

On the interpretation of art:
Surely, everybody wants to understand the meaning of art. Unfortunately, this is impossible, because art is a strange world. That's the way it is – and it's good that way.”

On contemporary art:
“In my opinion, many artists focus too much on the aspect of marketing. The work itself seems to be of secondary importance. Marketing and a campaign geared towards the media tend to become the true artistic act. This kind of art is meaningless to me. It is not my world and I stay away from those fashionable schools.”
